Locomotive 471 (2-8-0) used to be displayed in Chaska at the site of the former Klein Brickyards. This locomotive was used for switching at the Klein Brickyards after it was purchased from the M&StL in the 1940s. It has one surviving sister locomotive in Mason City, IA. See 471 here. Pictures of 457 in Mason City are here.

Here's a picture of them taking out the tracks when they abandoned the
line from Hopkins to Chaska in 1991. My friend Ron Keagle took it. It's
about a mile from my house. Notice the pre-1903 road R.R.bed in the
background. They re-did the line in 1903 to lower the grade and take out
the trestles. The picture was taken right on the Eden Prairie/Chanhassen
border. If you look on a map you'll find Riley Lake in the southwest
corner of Eden Prairie, I live on Riley Lake. It was about a mile
southwest of me.

When they redid the line from Chaska to Hopkins in 1903 they had to come
back
and take out the trestles. This picture was taken in 1904.
It was near the same place as the the picture I sent you taking up the
rails in 1991. Ernie
