M&StL Reunion

There is an idea that has been brewing for awhile in my head. I think it would be interesting to have an M&StL reunion. It could feature...

• Employee bull session with video cameras to capture the stories.
• Slide and video presentations
• Swap meet
• Model and photo contests
• Book signing if Gene Green can make it up north
• Structure and line tour or excursion
• Update of current M&StL developments like recently discovered equipment. Museum projects and a display of some of the AFE items.
• Model layout tours - An incentive to get some of them finished or started.
• Display of existing photo collections and collectibles. In a secure fashion.

Marshalltown or Minneapolis are the locations I have in mind since that's where I could get the most work done.

I would like to send a press release to every newspaper in every M&StL town to notify former employees, relatives and other Louie fans.

This summer is probably out of the question unless it was done on a smaller scale. But by 2003 quite a bit could be organized. Then it could be done again in 2 years.

One of the main goals of a reunion would be to identify former employees and have an opportunity for them to meet old friends and tell everyone else about the things they remember and to see if there are old photos out there that we could all see.
