North of Ackley, 4613 and 4488 cross a creek in a high wind, barely keeping ahead of heavy weather on May 20, 1987.

Near sundown on the evening of February 19, 1987, C&NW GP38-2's # 4621 and 4633 rumble over the spot where CRI&P tracks once crossed the M&StL;main (Abbott Crossing). The photo was taken from atop the platform of the Rock Island home signal; the perspective of the utility lines points the way towards Cleves.

It is February 4, 1988, and just south of the distant signal as it approaches Ackley, northbound # 4283 and companion are enveloped in a ground blizzard as they pull a very short train.

A gloomy, overcast day finds 4560 moving cars at the grain facility in Ackley.
