M&StL

Moravia, Iowa

RR X-ing

Fri, 17 Jan 2003 In looking over your web site I noticed listings for Moravia. I am assuming these stem from the few years that M&St.L operated the trackage that became the Centerville Albia and Southern. The M&St.L was forced off the property, and the property later becoming an interurban, and eventually the Southern Iowa Railway. If this is the case, and I am quite sure it is, do you know if the brick depot at Moravia is of M&St.L construction or of later Centerville Albia and Southern construction. It makes me curious because of the Brick construction in a tiny place like Moravia. Even the Wabash used a wood frame depot. I can find no build date for this structure and being a southern Iowa railway fan was trying to gather new info. Thanks and est wishes Bryan Anderson bryana@willinet.net
